The balls of lightning were getting closer - was this the end ? Blinking was impossible, the speed had even intensified and for the eight commanders the pressure was on. Caught off-guard, they had moved late and by the time their elements finally burst forth, it was already almost too late. Time seemed to slow down, and every second seemed like an eternity, plunging them further into fear.
Suddenly, just as impact was imminent, the sound of lightning became more deafening, ringing in the ears as a controlled explosion rocked the city. What had happened ? Were they all hallucinating ? Impossible to know, because whatever had just happened had only taken a fraction of a second. Now, a thick cloud of smoke and dust had covered the entire city, blocking vision around the entire perimeter.
