Theodora and Gerald were hidden behind the plants and were watching some kind of ceremony of the underwater world. In the middle of all the sea creatures were the mermaids and mermen.
The mermaid who they both assumed was a queen stood right in the centre with a trident in her hand. Theodora was surprised to see many mermaids with protruding bellies.
"Gerald are those mermaids pregnant?"
Gerald craned his neck and when he noticed what she was pointing at, he looked surprised too. "I think this is some kind of ceremony or a ritual, especially for the pregnant mermaids.
Because they are standing separate from the other mermaids. And they also have different coloured jewellery than the rest."
Theodora touched her belly still feeling that humming right through her. She was now relieved a bit. If there were many pregnant women like her then she had nothing to be feared of.
"Theodora, look there." Gerald pointed to the left.
