Barely a soul to be seen on the colorless streets of Fayedon, they were more desolate than some footpaths Aribelle had known during their travels. Looking around at the stone facades of the buildings, it was only their empty dark eyes that stared back at her as she wandered between them. Only a handful of stalls offering wares to sell, her and Marten had found nothing but a few spotted potatoes and turnips to buy. Their prospects, although unappealing, weighed down Marten and Aribelle's baskets as they meandered through the quiet streets of the fief.
