Lu Yizhou was startled awake by the blaring siren that resounded through the air. Any traces of sleepiness in his eyes immediately dissipated as soon as he registered his surroundings. Foul curses from half-awake prisoners sounded one after another from outside, followed by noisy footsteps of the warden banging on their doors.
