Chapter 1 - THE CROW

A flock of crows flew in circles in the night sky right after a fat man fell to the ground with a hole in the middle of his forehead. The crows seemed to dance as they flapped their wings, and they also sounded like they were singing the song of death with their sinister voices.

Several people hurriedly tried to save the bloody fat man, but even at a glance, they could tell that the fat man was lifeless now. Blood couldn't stop flowing from the hole in the center of the forehead, and a pair of eyes couldn't even close even after the soul left the body.

However, one of the bodyguards still raised the fat man's wrist to check his pulse. After confirming that his fingers couldn't feel the pulse, the bodyguard showed a grim expression.

"Mr. Hong has died. You all go find the sniper now!"

He was the leader of the guard team, and he screamed in panic after confirming that his boss had indeed lost his soul. There were three men with him to guide the fat man named Mr. Hong, but they couldn't even stop one bullet that penetrated the fat man's forehead.

The guards knew that they were in trouble, and they had no choice but to run to find the assassin who had killed their boss. They could predict the location of the killer from the direction of the bullet, and they immediately ran towards a building not far from their position.

Three bodyguards ran to catch the assassin, leaving only one bodyguard holding the fat man's body. He carefully studied the hole in the fat man's forehead, and he could see how perfectly the bullet had pierced the wrinkled forehead.

He gritted his teeth to contain his anger. The hole was unusual, and he was sure his subordinates would not be able to catch the killer.

Meanwhile, the three bodyguards rushed towards an abandoned building that was suspected to be the location of the assassin to execute the plan, and they hurriedly climbed the stairs.

It was nighttime, and the building was dark because there were no lights in the abandoned building. However, darkness was no obstacle for professional guards. They immediately took a few small flashlights out of their jacket pockets to lighten their way.

They could predict that the killer fired bullets from the roof of the building, so they didn't have to stop at every floor of the building to look for the killer.

It was not a tall building, and they only needed to pass three floors before arriving at the roof. However, they found nothing on the roof. The assassin managed to escape in the blink of an eye.

At the same time but in a different place, a man walked at a leisurely pace while whistling quietly. He headed to a black sedan parked on a lonely road that was quite narrow and dark, and as soon as he got to the car, he immediately opened the rear door and threw his special bag into the back seat.

That was a special bag because his beloved weapon was sleeping inside the bag.

Closing the door again, he then headed to the front door and opened the door to the driver's seat. Not wanting to waste time, he immediately got into the car and began to fasten his seat belt. He then calmly started the engine and drove the car away from the area where he had completed his task earlier.

He casually drove the car with his right hand after bringing his left hand to his mouth. Without hesitation, he bit the tip of the glove with his teeth before pulling the glove from his left hand.

His left hand was gloved free, and he used it to pull his cell phone out of his trouser pocket. Unlocking the phone using Face ID, he then dialed number 2 on the phone and waited for someone to answer the call.

He didn't have to wait too long because someone answered his call right away.

"It's only been an hour since you left our quarter to do your job, but you've called me now? Have you finished your work?" The person who answered the phone didn't even give him time to properly say hello because that person directly questioned him.

It wasn't that he wanted to say hello to that person, but he still thought that it would be rude for someone to act like that on the phone.

But, why would he think such a thing? People like them didn't know how to be polite. They were the kind of people who wouldn't waste time on small talk. If the talk didn't give them any money, then they chose not to talk.

"I've finished my work, and I called you to report about it," he answered the words coldly.

He was still on the road, and he had to divide his focus between the streets and the conversation. However, that was not the reason behind his cold reply.

"That's good," the other person responded again. "I know that I can always trust you for an important job. I will transfer the money to you."

He no longer replied to the man's words even if the car stopped at a red light now. It was not the first time he had finished his work, and he knew that the person would send him money after he made a report.

Thus, that was not the reason why he called the person right after he completed his task.

"I'm on my way to the quarter now. I want to talk to you about some matters," he voiced out his intention to the person right after the traffic light turned green again.

"Oh? It's already so late, and you can always talk to me at any time. You can rest now and come to the quarter tomorrow."

He could hear the other person resisting his intentions, but he didn't want to give up his will so easily. "No," he said firmly, leaving no room for further refusal. "I'm going to the quarter now, so you better wait for me."

He was stubborn, and the person on the other end of the phone sighed before replying, "Well, you are my dear son, and I will be waiting for you here, The Crow."
