Mariela's POV
Even if I am drunk already, I am still aware of Archer's presence; he looked at me differently tonight, but my face hardened when I remembered what he had done earlier tonight. He didn't give in to my request, and instead of saying yes, he told me I should be his assistant for one week, and he would decide if he would grant my request or not.
I watched Archer looking at me with tenderness in his eyes, and I grimaced at him before turning my focus to Valerie. And I could see the amusement on my best friend's face when I told her my mortal enemy was in the resto-bar.
And even if I told her not to look at them, she turned her head quickly, and she waved at them, and I am just glad not even Kent noticed her gesture because a group of ladies joined them.
