The night arrived and Orika had just fallen asleep. I gently rubbed her hair then sat up on her bed then got out of her bed. I left the room and gently closed the door then made my way out of her dorm room. I left the dormitory and quietly made my way to the train station.
Orishi was watching from her battleship then sat up. She rose an eyebrow and watched me get on the train. "Where is that girl going..?" She asked herself then started up her battleship.
I sat on the train and already decided to go back to the Judgement Tower. Once the train stopped at Yukihori, I got out of the train then walked ahead. As I walked around, I noticed the city looking as lively as ever despite the Demon Order and Judgement being active at night. I walked towards the Judgement Tower and noticed two men guarding the front entrance.
"Huh...There was never anyone guarding this tower. Something important must be going on inside. I could sneak my way into the building, but if I'm caught then that's it." I said to myself then looked around and noticed a penny on the ground. I picked it up then quickly flicked it towards them. They heard the penny and one of them went to investigate the noise.
I was about to go take down the other guard, but Orishi stopped me and covered my mouth. I panicked and squirmed.
"What...the fuck are you doing..? Are you trying to get yourself killed..? This is the Judgement Tower plus you're supposed to be in the dormitory. It's nearing 10 PM." Orishi whispered then uncovered my mouth.
I exhaled and looked back at Orishi, glaring. "I need to find my answers. I want no secrets between me and Orika and even me and Saito. I used to come to this tower a lot with my father when I was younger...I need to find out everything I can about Judgement. When I died, a few of my memories left me."
"And you'll get yourself killed just so you won't have any secrets? Are you dumb?" Orishi asked.
"A little. I was dumb to think Judgement was the good side back then. They did a lot to me and I want to figure out if I can find anything of my past here and maybe find out the plans of Judgement. If I do this, I'll be helping myself and the Valkyrias. It's a win-win situation." I said and smiled.
Orishi looked at me then sighed, letting me go. "You're not doing this stunt alone. I'm coming with you, but I'm gonna get you back to campus before curfew. Both you and I could get in trouble if we aren't back by 10 PM."
"What's with the 10 PM curfew?" I asked.
"That's when the defense systems turn on and if we aren't back by then we are locked out of the campus until 6 AM. Right now it's...8 PM. We have roughly two hours to do this. Better be quick about this..." Orishi said.
I nodded and peeked around the corner, seeing both men posted back at the front door. I opened my hand then lightning crackled around my hand. I managed to make two lightning spikes then held them light daggers. I hurried around the corner and vanished in lightning speeds then appeared above the two guards and stabbed them in their necks. They groaned before dying on the spot. I looked at Orishi and she nodded then hurried over. We dragged them to a secluded area then changed into their clothes.
"How many floors?" Orishi asked.
"About 20 Floors, but there is an elevator. I remember when I came here when I was younger, floors one through ten was just agent work with computers. Floors eleven through fifteen are the science floors where they do experiments and finally sixteen through 20 is where the big people are. The more important members. This isn't the main HQ, but I know the Commander comes here a lot." I answered.
"Alright, I'm starting the two hour timer. Once two hours are up, we leave with what we got." Orishi said.
"Right." I nodded then we headed inside the building.
The other workers nodded at us then we nodded back. I walked ahead to the receptionist. The woman looked at us and hung up the phone.
"Secret Code." She asked.
Orishi looked at me and I looked at the woman.
"Fallen Overlord." I said.
The woman looked at me then handed us passes and we walked ahead inside the first office. Orishi looked at the woman and back at me. I took a piece of paper out of my pocket and went over to the assigned desk. I sat in the chair then began to enter the password to the computer and logged in.
"All data is stored in one network here. Although everyone researches something different, everyone can access the same data as the next. So...let me click this file here and plug in the USB Saito let me have. We can research this data when we get back." I said then sat back in the chair.
Orishi watched then looked around. She got a call from Yusa via her communicator. She tapped on her earpiece. "Orishi speaking. What is it Yusa?"
"Where are you?" Yusa asked.
"I'm with Hisumi at the moment. Something came up with her and I didn't want her to get stranded out alone and get in trouble." Orishi answered.
"Something came up in Yukihori? What happened?" Yusa asked.
"I'm a bit confused on that myself, but I will bring her back before curfew." Orishi said.
"Alright. Just stay safe. Judgement and the Demon Order are more active at night. Over and out." Yusa hung up.
The data finished downloading and I took the USB out of the PC then put the USB in my pocket. I logged off the computer and stood up.
"Well that's rooms one through ten completed in a matter of minutes. Next up are floors eleven through fifteen." I nodded then Orishi nodded back.
We walked towards the elevator then got in. I clicked the button with the number 11 and the elevator when up to the 11th Floor. The elevator soon stopped and the doors opened. We walked out of the elevator and walked around to investigate the laboratory. I walked around and noticed capsules with humans inside of them. Orishi walked to a computer and noticed some documentations.
Day 12 - December 2, 2078: The First Fell Human came out to be a failure. She died within the first few seconds because she wasn't able to handle the Fell Energy. It is getting difficult to make a Fell Human like Hisumi. He was the first successful Fell Human in a long time.
"He..?" Orishi asked herself then looked at me then scrolled down the page.
Day 15 - December 5, 2078: We did it...We revived Hisumi's Father. He's the second Fell Human to ever come out alive! Now we will prepare him like all the other Beasts.
Day 17 - December 7, 2078: Fuck! He went berserk! He took out half of our scientists and now has gone missing. The one name he kept yelling was Yusa Yukota's name. He must've been betrayed by her. Whatever the situation is, now we have to be careful when hunting him.
"Damn...Hisumi is not going to like this information." Orishi said to herself then walked away from the computer.
I stared at the people in the capsules and Orishi walked over to me seeing my distraught face. She looked at the capsules and looked a bit surprised as well.
"Clones...of me..." I mumbled and had a flashback when the scientists were taking samples from my body.
"So you used to be a guy...What happened? How did you go from male to female?" Orishi asked.
"I...couldn't answer that...I don't even know how I did it." I said then walked away.
Orishi watched me then looked at one of the metal plates with words on it. "H-12 Rank A. This is the 12th clone they've made. Why are they fixated on only Hisumi..?" She asked herself then followed me to the elevator then we got in and headed to the top floors.
The elevator stopped at floor 20 and we got out. We quietly walked down the halls and a room door was cracked open. We stopped and listened.
"What are we going to do about Seihachi Ishida..? He's gone wild and mad. We don't know where he is and frankly he could potentially be an enemy as well." Morata spoke.
I peeked inside of the room and noticed a man in a mask sitting at the desk.
"Seihachi is a priority of mine personally as we know each other well. My other priority is Hisumi. The boy's turned into a woman you say? Well that's even better for us since women are known to be able to handle all forms of energy better than men. Listen closely Morata, Kioshi. Don't kill her. I need her back to me alive and away from Yusa. If she ever learns that Yusa is her real mother, she will never come back to me. Make sure you find her and apprehend her." The person said.
Orishi looked at me and frowned a bit then noticed me turn towards her.
I did sign language at Orishi saying, "The person at the desk is the commander, but something is strange about them. At first they wanted me dead and now they need me alive."
Orishi did sign language back to me saying, "Sounds like the commander needs you for a bigger plot. Keep looking to see if you can spot any useful information."
I nodded and noticed Morata and Kioshi using the elevator to go back to the first floor. The commander took off their choker and coughed then took off their mask. My eyes widened then I scooted back quickly. Orishi looked at me then noticed me hurrying towards the elevator. Orishi hurried behind me and we got in the elevator.
I looked down at the ground and covered my eyes. I leaned against the wall of the elevator and had flashes of different memories. "How...? That's impossible...the commander is said to be a male."
"I mean, it shouldn't be that big of an issue. Why does it seem to be an issue that the commander isn't male? What did you see Hisumi?" Orishi asked.
"The commander...is my step mother..." I said then gripped my hair.
Orishi noticed how stressed out I was and felt my Fell Energy. "Hisumi calm down." She said and held my shoulders.
"This can't be...my own step mother...ordered people to kill my father and also wanted me to die? Why..? Just why..?!" I began to hyperventilate and my lightning energy crackled around me and began to make the elevator malfunction.
"Hisumi!" Orishi hugged me and I looked surprised. "Listen...I know this is a lot to take in. Just breathe...take deep breaths."
I nodded and began to take deep breaths slowly. I calmed down a bit and closed my eyes. The elevator began working again and began moving once more.
"Listen, it was better you find out than me or Yusa..but now you've got a choice to make. Your father and step mother are now enemies. Well they've been enemies for a while now, but you love them. This is the time to start thinking about where you stand...okay?" Orishi said softly as she held me.
I nodded and sighed softly then the elevator stopped and we got off the elevator. We left the building and Orishi's timer beeped then we hurried over to the battleship. We got on and Yumi set down her binoculars, spotting us.
"You two really thought you were slick...heh. This time we have a very special surprise for you all." Yumi giggled and ate a potato chip.
Orishi and I made it back to campus and got out of the the battleship then I headed to the dormitory and Orishi walked to Yusa's office. Yusa looked up from her computer and looked at Orishi.
"You're back. What happened and why are you wearing those tacky clothes?" Yusa asked.
"I think you need to worry more about this." Orishi said and placed the USB I had on her desk. "Hisumi went to the Judgement Tower and we had to play hitman and detective to get this information. Also we know where Hisumi's step mother is."
"Where is she..?" Yusa asked.
"She's alive and she's the Commander of Judgement." Orishi said then crossed her arms. "Also they brought Hisumi's father back to life and Hisumi has clones of her past self."
"Fucking hell...What the hell is Judgement doing over there.." Yusa placed elbows on her desk and rubbed the sides of her head.
"Explain one more thing to me. Why the fuck did you not tell me...you were Hisumi's REAL mother.." Orishi asked.
Yusa looked up and sat back in her chair. "So you know huh. What gave it away?"
"I don't want to play these games with you Yusa. We've been friends for 14 years. I need the truth from you. Tell me everything." Orishi crossed her arms.
Yusa sighed and closed her eyes. "Take a seat. I'll tell you everything."
