It wasn't long before Rosa returned with the tray of food for Vanessa who took minutes to round up her bath.
"How are you feeling now?". Rosa queried while helping her mistress dry her hair.
"Quite alive". She smiled. "Could you give me a rundown on what has happened during my absence?".
Rosa nodded before taking the next half an hour to explain things while helping her mistress get dressed for the night.
"His highness had seemed quite distant since your leave. He must care about you a lot, Milady".
Vanessa's fist tightened at her chest. "Really?". Her voice wasn't as excited as the maid had expected.
All Vanessa could think about was, 'If he cared so much, why did he reject me?'. She'd talked about taking his heart by force, but knowing the power difference between herself and his foes was quite disheartening.
Although she didn't plan to give up easily. She wouldn't force him to love her, but she'll try to win his heart over.
