Chapter 4 - Not a human

"Fine," I tried to hide away all my passion, and look like we were a mafia boss and his Underboss, and not lovers who can't resist a thought about kissing each other whenever their eyes met. I saw he was trying to do the same; he actually, was more successful than me.

I turned around and looked at the saleswoman, who was standing right near the fitting room as if pointing to me where to go. I went inside, took off my clothes, and put on that new dress. Then, I looked at myself in a mirror and focused so much, that I didn't even hear what was going on around me.

It was a slim maxi low-back dress with slits on both legs, a plunging neckline, and made of silk. Black mate fabric was absorbing light as I moved my body creating a perfect pair for Markus's black slim suit. Wait, what?

I quickly turned around when my chin was caught with his cold fingers, which lit up like a fire when touched me. His plump light-pink lips touched mine in a passionate kiss, his left hand moved down my body, and stopped at my waist so he pulled me closer to himself and deepened the kiss.

"You look stunning. Perfect for My Underboss..." he whispered to my lips, then broke our kiss, squatted down making my heart stop, put the front lower part of the dress up, took a small belt holster from his pocket, and put it on my neck. It was leather outside, and soft inside so my leg wouldn't be hurt. Then, he put a Sig P226 inside the holster, added a small knife there, let go of the skirt, and stood up, whispering, "Your police gun and jeton I will hide, for not one to find and expose you. We don't want our plans to be spoiled..."

"Who's gun it is?" I asked looking into his onyx eyes.

"Mine, I have plenty of those in my private gun safe..." he went out of the fitting room, then headed straight to the saleswoman, "Give us a few of the same dresses quickly..."

He put my police suit at her desk, and turned around to me, waiting. His eyes slipped at me from head to toes, then stopped at my heels. He frowned, then looked at the girl, approaching with a few dresses in her hands.

"It's the same size as the dress you got from the mannequin..." she put the dresses on the desk for us to examine. He quickly looked over them, then looked at her with his cold look.

"Pack everything" he was short in his words, yet very effective. The saleswoman packed all the dresses with my "old" police suit into the one pack, then quickly held him the bill. I got closer but before I could even lower my eyes at the cost, he put a card on the table. It made me frown.

"You shouldn't pay for that. It's my purchase..." I tried to take the money from my handbag, but I found out I don't have it, "Oh no... Shit..."

"You left it in the car..." he said as if he saw how I left it but didn't give it back to me.

"You specifically didn't give it back to me?" I arched an eyebrow, then crossed hands over my chest, "What a jerk..."

He chuckled, then put the card back in his pocket, took my pack, and turned around.

"Watch your tongue..."

"Or what?" I narrowed my eyes, looking at him, while with the back of my eyes I caught the saleswoman's facial expression. She thought I'm mad acting like this with him. However, I knew he will not do anything bad to me. He can only punish me... I smirked, and he smirked back.

"You know what..." there was no danger in his voice, which made me smirk again.

"You owe me a pair of shoes, then..." he chuckled at my words while going down the street. I followed him and took his elbow.

"Wanna eat something?" he asked, looked at me from the corner of his eye, then headed somewhere in the unknown direction.

"I don't remember when I ate last time. Maybe we can eat and you will tell me more about clues, that will help me investigate the case?" I came up with an idea, and he agreed with a nod of his head.

Markus was looking for something while walking, maybe for his favorite shop or café, while I was trying to look around us and my eyes caught a few strange things. I saw a few men in black suits on different sides of the street. They had guns on their hips which I can easily notice, even at distance, and the further we went, the more I notice those men with guns, however, no one except me paid attention. I couldn't resist and asked Markus about that, without making him stop. His answer made me shocked. I didn't expect such a twist in the plot.

"It's my people. They were in a few cars, following us while we were driving. When we went outside they followed us..." he said, then turned left, went upstairs, opened a door for me, and let me go inside the small and comfortable light Café. The first thing I noticed was that it was pretty empty here even considering the lunchtime, and a comfortable place for office workers and tourists to enter it and take a cup of tasty coffee. I had a feeling that the Café was empty because of us.

We followed to the bar counter, where Markus ordered two cups of black coffee with milk from a friendly smiling barista, then he got a menu and we went to the free table near the black folding screen in the corner of the Café. He pulled out a chair for me, I sat down, and he sat in front, giving me a menu. I didn't notice men in black suits around us.

"No bodyguards here?" I opened a menu and rolled my eyes. The prices! They were so big, that I closed the menu immediately. He laughed at my reaction, making me pout my lips. "Hey! It was really too expensive! Is there anything cheaper?"

"Babe," he stroked the bridge of his nose, then looked at me with his deep onyx eyes, "I'm a billionaire. I don't mind spending few thousand dollars a day..."

"But why? Why at me?! Or have you done that for others as well?" I arched an eyebrow, feeling... Jealousy?

He laughed loudly, and when the barista came and put our coffee he didn't stop laughing. I rolled my eyes and pouted my lips. What a... Devil... Sexy Devil...

"Anything else?" Batista looked at me with a flirtatious smile.

"He will order after he'll calm down," I suddenly stood up in a flow of irritation, and made a few steps when my hand was caught and I was immediately put down on someone's knees. His hands immediately took me in a cocoon and his face darkened.

"Never do this again..."

"Or what?" I felt my face darken as much as his. I could feel what he felt. I reached the same mood in a second.

Instead of an answer, he kissed me hungrily and pressed my body towards his. His right hand moved from my waist to my face, and he deepen the kiss, while his other hand moved from my waist to the menu on the table, pointing to something on it. I couldn't see what he pointed out there, because I closed my eyes, deepening myself in the kiss and passion he was sharing with me.

"Will be ready in a few minutes. If you need anything else, call me," Batista went away, and Markus's hand moved from the table to my knees. He stroked my bare legs up to my hips and hugged my waist. He broke the kiss and looked at it with his onyx eyes.

"Clear?"

"Clear," I blushed, then tried to calm down my heart that was on a race and stood up when he made me sit back.

"You'll stay here" he ordered, and I didn't want to protest anymore, so I sat back and put my head on his shoulders.

"Try to not command me..." I whispered, looking at a tattoo on his neck I just noticed. It was a gun, the same one he gave me. He chuckled, then turned his head in my direction and I saw how a tattoo of a gun shoot, noticing a bullet tattoo not far away from the gun. What a masterpiece!

"I will try to not command if you will try to believe me, deal?" he looked at me and his demanding onyx eyes made me melt. I know. I know it's not appropriate to melt, to feel attracted to that bad boy and his behavior, but I just can't resist, is it bad? Even if it is, I don't care.

"I will believe you if you will let me know more..." I demanded back and he smirked.

"Nice one. Then, we can talk while drinking coffee?" he smirked back and I giggled.

"Fine..."

"First of all," he said, stroking my leg and taking a sip of coffee, "I want you to tell me. Have you ever thought the world might be hiding something from you?"

"I always have such a feeling, honey, " I looked at him, "Life is too secretive..."

"As soon as you have me, you'll reveal some deepest secrets the world had been hiding from you," he looked at me with a devilish glow in his eyes, then took a cup of coffee with his fingers, and took a few sips. I examined his look for some more minutes, then took a cup with my fingers and made a few sips of coffee as well. It was tasty black Robusta with milk softening its harsh aftertaste. Robusta is known to have twice as much caffeine as Arabica, so it has a harder aftertaste in the end, but with the combination of milk, it is softer. I could still feel the peanutty taste while drinking. It made me close my eyes and melt at that moment mixed with a coffee aftertaste.

"There are things in our lives, we might once notice, but do not understand, do you agree?" I quickly opened my eyes and looked at him. His words made me remember a few strange things I once noticed in my life, that have never been forgotten.

"I agree. There are things in our lives, we might notice, but don't understand their origin..." I put my head on his shoulder, while he hugged my waist tightly.

"What can you say about me?" his question made me flinch, put my head up and look deep into his eyes, "Tell me..."

His voice was demanding and I had no doubt he had something on his mind. I examined his look to notice his lips twitching in a smirk and his eyes glowing with joy. Interesting.

"I don't think you belong to those human beings who are crazy in the amount of money they have. I feel you can easily grow more in a few minutes, and you don't care about spending them but... That fire..." I suddenly said and my words triggered his attention more than the previous one about money. His eyes lit up with a devilish glow.

"The fire?" He asked as if pleasing me to keep going.

"When your driver cockblocked us, your body lit up like a fire in a second, while your eyes filled with anger. I think anger is one of the triggers for that fire, but... I don't know the origin of it, humans can't have a fire inside their bodies?" I looked at him with my deep blue eyes full of confusion, and his onyx eyes lit up again. Satisfaction.

"Keep going..." He started stroking his chin as if my words were treatment for him.

"Your eyes... Onyx eyes, white snowy hair... It's so unnatural..." I suddenly notice his lips twitching in a smile, revealing his sharp fangs. The crazy idea caught up in my mind immediately. "Not human! You're not human!"

He grinned, revealing the look of his sharp white long fangs. Suddenly, he hugged me tightly pressing me to his body, and whispered to my ear:

"Do you think you are one hundred percent human...?"
