Chapter 6 - Decision

The next day on campus, Kalea went to Zeline's desk to protest that the information she had been given was not detailed. She of course felt cheated because it turned out that she also had to satisfy the desires of the man she was accompanying. Even though Arthur was handsome and wealthy, Kalea was hesitant and unwilling. It was like she was selling herself in exchange for money.

"Zeline ...," Kalea called out, a disappointed look on her face as she remembered Zeline offering her a dirty job.

The beautiful girl with the blonde hair looked up at Kalea. She raised one eyebrow. "What?"

Kalea finally told Arthur everything that happened when Zeline had left them. Instead of feeling guilty, Zeline laughed so hard that the corners of her eyes watered. The girl slowly stopped laughing as her stomach became a little sore, she looked at Kalea frivolously while Kalea scowled in annoyance. She didn't understand what Zeline was laughing about, even though she was at a disadvantage here. Moreover, the task she had done was entirely by herself.

"Kalea, Kalea, you're really innocent, aren't you," Zeline taunted with a lopsided smile on that charming face.

"What do you mean?" Kalea felt offended.

"Either innocent or stupid. It turns out you're only good at academics." Zeline moved her body forward. "Do you think there's such an easy job in this world?" Zeline asked, making Kalea's temper boil even more.

"You tricked me," Kalea said. She unconsciously clenched her hands into tight fists. She felt like she was being played when she was really looking for a job.

"I wasn't completely deceived. After all, did Arthur take you straight to the room, huh? Ah, but it seems like he did," Zeline said as she squinted. She recalled the behavior of Arthur who was very fond of women and thought that women were the most beautiful creatures than anything else. Any woman would instantly fall into his trap, and give her body to him.

"Not at all," Kalea replied.

Zeline's eyebrows raised, she was slightly startled. "You haven't been touched by them?" she whispered.

Kalea looked at Zeline a little strangely. How could that girl say something as obscene as that. She shook her head. "I haven't agreed to the contract yet."

"Stupid, you should have just accepted!" said Zeline, becoming annoyed. "Arthur is very attractive, royal, and anyone would fall in love with him. I'm sure you'll be satisfied with him. Both your financial and body will be satisfied by him," Zeline added with a mischievous smile. Kalea just shuddered in horror at the sight, Zeline was indeed true to the rumors. This beautiful girl often played with men who were much older than her.

"Yes, already. It's up to you, but I'm sure if you take it off, you'll regret it," Zeline said as she got up from her seat. "Bye, I'm going to the toilet."

Kalea looked at Zeline who was walking out of the classroom. She sighed heavily. "Am I not the one who will regret giving my body to a man without a marriage bond?" Kalea muttered very quietly.

She felt that sugar dating was not right. There was no way she would give up her honor for money. This was the same as her mother's words the other day telling her to sell her body to someone else. However, seeing Arthur, the offer, and the freedom she would get from the contract made her waver a little.

Kalea shook off the thoughts that were making her dizzy, there were still two days to decide whether or not to agree to the contract Arthur gave her and start a profitable relationship with him.

*

It had been two days after her meeting with Arthur. Kalea could not decide for sure. She was too tired from her work and duties. At ten in the evening, Kalea had just finished working at the family restaurant. Before boarding the bus, she stopped by the convenience store to buy alcohol for her mother. She stood right by the alcohol self, still undecided on how many bottles to buy for Freya. Kalea reached into her purse and looked at the money she had left.

It had only been a few months since she had been able to buy alcohol with her legal age, she used to use any means to get away with buying it if her mother forced her to and wouldn't buy it herself.

"Just for one bottle," Kalea muttered under her breath. She sighed and took one bottle of alcohol to pay the cashier. The girl had to prepare herself because after this she would definitely be tortured by her mother again.

"You only bought one more bottle? You're really deaf, aren't you?! I told you one wasn't enough!" Freya snapped and threw the used bottle next to Kalea. The girl's body trembled, as it almost hit her.

"S-sorry, Mom ... I don't have enough money in my wallet, I'll buy some more tomorrow, okay ...," Kalea pleaded as she held her mother's leg. However, Freya kicked her to make Kalea let go of her leg. Making the girl fall backwards.

"Don't touch me with that filthy body of yours! You think I'm going to melt with that begging attitude of yours? You buy it now!" the mother commanded as she grabbed her daughter's straight brunette hair in a ponytail. Kalea winced in pain, and kept begging to be let go but Freya grabbed her even harder and dragged her out of the house. "Go away!"

"W-wait, Mom, let me get some money from my room first," Kalea pleaded as she put her hands together and continued to plead. Her gaze was so pleading.

Freya sighed in exasperation, continuing to push Kalea with her foot. "Then hurry up!"

Kalea immediately ran up the stairs to her room. The look on her face instantly turned gaping, unable to believe what she was seeing. The room that was always neatly organized was now a mess. She was pretty sure she had always left the room she had taken refuge in neatly. Had her mother entered her private domain? This had never happened in her life. Even as a child, when Freya was still a loving mother, she had never entered the room even until now, supposedly.

Kalea stumbled towards the cupboard where she kept her money.

It wasn't there. The money It wasn't there at all.

As it became harder for the girl to breathe, she went through the whole place again looking for her money. But nothing. Still nothing. Kalea held her forehead, remembering where she kept her money but she was sure it was there and she almost never forgot something so important. Kalea looked elsewhere again. The study table, the bed, everything in the room. Her nerves began to heat up and she wanted to cry, she had to find the money. She was sure she still had some savings to use in case of emergencies.

"Hey, asshole! You took so long to get the money!" Freya shouted from downstairs.

"Just a minute, Mom!" Kalea replied in a trembling tone. Back to searching her messy room.

Twenty minutes had passed, and Kalea hadn't found the money at all. She had to ask her mother about this. Leaving her room empty-handed, she walked slowly down the stairs. Freya was waiting down there. She jerked her daughter's arm when Kalea reached the bottom. "What took you so long?!"

"Mom ... why is my room a mess?" asked Kalea, her gaze dazed.

"How would I know! Do you think I broke into your room, huh?!" snapped Freya. Never once had she been so gentle with her only child.

Kalea looked down deeply, she didn't want to accuse her mother but who else among them had come into her room? They were the only ones living in the house. The girl ventured to ask, "Mom, did you take my money?"

Freya's face became even more sinister than before. Her eyes bulged, the veins on her face became more visible. She slapped Kalea angrily. However, Kalea remained silent and accepted the slap. "Now you're accusing me of taking your meager money?!" Freya's scolding was deafening.

Kalea bit her lower lip, holding back the pain and disappointment she felt. Her cheeks were sore from her mother's slap. "Just tell me mom, I'm okay if you did take the money ...," Kalea softly looked down, holding back her tears that could come at any moment.

Freya grabbed Kalea's chin roughly, for the girl to look up at her. Freya smiled contemptuously. "Yeah, I took it. I need alcohol!"

"I-I always buy you alcohol, Mom ... but it's money for our daily needs," Kalea replied, looking at her mother pleadingly.

"Don't worry, I'm gambling. If I win, I'll give you your money back," Freya said as she released her grip on Kalea's chin.

Kalea's eyes were perfectly rounded, she gaped. "M-mom, you plays gambling?" The tears she had been holding back now exploded. The girl burst into tears, not expecting Freya to steal the only funds they had. She didn't even know what she would eat tomorrow if it was like this. Freya even added to her misery by playing gambling, which definitely had more disadvantages than advantages.

"Why are you crying?! Do you think I'm going to lose? You don't like giving me money, huh?!" snapped Freya as she grabbed Kalea again and pushed her to the ground. The girl continued to cry, her heart hurting more than her mother's torture. Freya continued to torture her. Slapping, kicking and stomping her. At this point, Freya was tired and satisfied. Breathing heavily, the woman smiled mockingly. "I don't want to know, you find more money for me to live on," she said with a selfish heart.

Afterward, Freya left Kalea alone in a poor condition. The hair that had always been in pigtails was now a mess, and her face and body were covered in bruises. The girl's tears had dried up, her gaze so empty. She tried to get up intending to return to the room. With shaky steps while enduring the pain all over her body, she climbed the stairs to the room.

In the room, Kalea searched for a piece of paper that she kept in a safe place. The girl looked at the paper that contained her contract with the attractive 32-year-old man, who else if not Arthur Jefferson. Kalea sighed, she had no more ways to get money in such a short time.

Arthur was the only way.

Kalea grabbed her cell phone and typed in Arthur's number to call him. She would agree to a contract with Arthur.
