Annalise opened the folded parchment to see exactly what was inside it only to find a single word written on it.

She showed the parchment to others who were curiously waiting to know what sort of thing was hidden in the parchment. Everyone seemed just as surprised after seeing the message as Annalise was, confusion was clearly written on all their faces, except for Valerius.
"Really? Is this really the reason why you stopped the investigation?" Ezra was the first one to ask the question and from his tone, it was pretty clear that he didn't believe the King at all.
On the other hand, even though Annalise too didn't understand how come the single word on the parchment made the King stop his investigation, she could tell that there was more to the story.
