Chapter 3 - The Handsome Dark Lord

Annalise stared wide-eyed at the man standing right in front of her with a curious look in his dark brown eyes as he observed her from head to toe.

He had long black hair that was currently pulled back in a little bun. His sharp facial features gave him a sinister aura that made goosebumps appear all over Annalise's body. The man was tall, probably over six feet and his body was built like that of a warrior.

Even though she was kinda scared because of his sudden freaky appearance, she still couldn't help but realize just how handsome the man was. At first, there's nothing about him that would pull anyone's attention toward him but then the very next second, it seemed like he could become the center of everyone's attention in a room filled with countless handsome men.

She wasn't sure how she knew it but she could tell that the man was one of the three dark lords, he was one of her husbands and she wasn't sure what to do with that information.

Though she had been preparing herself in her mind for the moment when she would finally meet her husbands, it seemed like she didn't prepare enough for it as her mind was completely blank at the moment. She couldn't do anything else and just stare at the Dark Lord like a total idiot.

Since her eyes refused to move away from the man, she decided to study him some more. The aura that surrounded him screamed power as if he possessed ancient magic which was a ridiculous thought. She had heard that the Dark Lords were powerful, way more powerful than anyone in the entire Seelie Realm. But were they powerful enough to possess ancient magic?

As her eyes traveled down his shoulders and to his abdomen, she realized just how strong he was physically in comparison to her little frame. She finally noticed that he was wearing loose black trousers with a white tunic and black boots.

Her attention returned to his face and she noticed his lips curving from the corner in a barely noticeable smile. Her heart almost skipped a beat at the thought of him watching her checking him out so openly but then he was doing the same thing with her.

She felt her legs starting to quiver as the man suddenly started moving towards her, closing the distance between them. She wanted to move back, to recreate the original distance between the two of them but unfortunately, her body refused to listen. Her legs became numb and while a voice inside her head was telling her to back away, she kept standing there like a statue while staring at the man.

He didn't stop until he was standing right in front of her, leaving only a little space between them. If she would stretch her arms in front, she was sure that she would be able to touch him with the tip of her fingers.

Annalise was about to relax when the man took another stride closer to her, closing all the little space that was left between them. She had to arch her head back just to look at him. She was astounded when she felt him taking out the silver hairpin that was keeping her hair tied in a loose bun, allowing freedom to her long platinum blue hair.

She decided to change her outfit before leaving the Capital. For her, the Lords didn't deserve to see her in the wedding dress. Instead of the beautiful white royal wedding gown, she was now wearing a simple light blue dress with only a pair of blue jade earrings and the hairpin that was keeping her hair tied.

She felt his fingers running down her hair and felt something fluttering in her chest, only then did she realize that her heart had once again gone mad and her lungs were no better.

"Such beautiful hair..."

She heard the man whispering in a barely audible voice as if he was speaking to only himself. She found herself looking at him only to find his gaze locked on her hair.

"I lost the bet and had to come here to greet you as the punishment..."

Punishment? Was that how he felt about meeting her? Annalise didn't like how her heart clenched at the thought or his words. She shouldn't care about his opinion, or should she?

"... They warned me that you are so beautiful. But I never thought that you will be such a cute little bird with such a charming appearance." He said while looking directly into her eyes.

Annalise found her heart skipping another beat as she realized that the Lord just called her beautiful. While it was not the first time someone had called her pretty or praised the unusual/unique color of her hair, the person standing in front of her wasn't just 'someone'.

"Annalise Sylvester, welcome to your new home. I'm Kenric Sylvio, the youngest among the three Lords." The man introduced himself as he finally let go of her hair and took a step back, allowing Annalise to finally take a breath of relief.

A loud thunder outside the castle pulled their attention toward the broken window and Kenric let out a small frustrated sigh. He remembered fixing that window just this morning but here it was, broken all over again.

His attention returned to the woman, his wife, and he noticed her looking at the pouring rain outside the broken window with a cute frown on her face.

"Well, ah... Sorry about the weather. The weather in the castle depends on the mood of the three of us and let's just say... some of us are really not in a good mood today." He tried to explain and noticed her frown only deepening.

He suddenly had a strong urge to brush his fingers against her brows to disperse her frown but he immediately returned to his senses.

"How about this, since it's already three past midnight, you should take some rest in your room. Let's worry about other things tomorrow." He suggested hurriedly and got ready to disappear immediately.

However...
