Annalise sat in front of the mirror as she combed through the wet tangles of her hair. She had just taken a bath and now she had to handle the mess of her hair on her own which made her miss Sera even more than before.
They had stopped at a tavern for the night as it wasn't safe for them to continue traveling in the darkness considering they were in the middle of nowhere. There was no town or villages anywhere near the tavern but only wilderness.
She was aware that her husbands only took the break because of her. If it had been only three of them, they would probably have continued with their journey throughout the night too.
A sudden knock on the door pulled her out of her thoughts and as she turned her head to look at the door, she found Kenric entering the room with a simple black cloak draped over his shoulders, the only thing that was hiding most of his chiseled upper body from the observing sights of others.
