Everyone got up nice and early, wasting no time leaving the bunker. We began our walk through the ruined city, which had long become dead quiet. No more explosions, fires or the screams of civilians running away. The majority of the buildings had holes in them or had fallen completely.
The damage only served to highlight the mutants' potential for destruction—it was comparable to several missile strikes. It only made their presence more terrifying because they were hiding underground for something. I'd prefer if they were just mindless beasts roaming the city, but no, there was a brain behind their actions.
Furthermore, we would need to walk for at least a full day to get to gate 7 due to their destruction. However, if we had a vehicle and a nice strip of road, it would take us an hour, but that will put a target on our backs and make it easier for people to spot us.
