Thump...thump... thump...
The sound of Neveah's heart beats were loud and clear in her ears, her breath came out in short pants and her heart slammed against her rib cage as though it would jump out at any moment.
As always, she stood in the darkness, shadows besieging her from all around, Neveah could hardly see a step ahead of her but she could not afford to concern herself with her surroundings.
This shortness of breath... this terrible ache, this unwelcome tugging, Neveah knew exactly what it was... for whom such feelings were stirred.
