Alessio soon arrived at the hidden chambers where the rogue warlock Karan awaited him.
"And here I was thinking I would have to write an official appeal for your presence... now that you are crowned Alpha King." Karan took a jab at Alessio's belated arrival which was expected of the unyielding warlock.
"It would do you much good to desist from provoking me, Karan. You are only useful to me when you are within control." Alessio relayed in a blank tone.
"What is it... the hundredth time you have posed a death threat? Makes one wonder why I still live." Karan replied with an unfazed eye roll.
Alessio's lips pulled back in a snarl but he withheld his rage at Karan's next words.
"I could always return to my cell, if you are uninterested in hearing of my most recent... breakthrough." Karan suggested.
Alessio's brows twitched in annoyance but he did not say anything more, settling for walking past Karan.
