"We can neither advance nor retreat. Then, we have no choice?" Neveah's wolf asked and Neveah sighed as she stepped into the woods.
At this point, the only feasible choice was to choose death over being sold out by her father, yet Neveah had already tasted death before and even now, it still left a bitter residue on her tongue.
Neveah had only just turned eighteen, she did not fear death but if she had to die, she would die for a good cause... she would never be forced to death by her father or die at her brother's hands.
One lifetime of weakness and failures was already enough, facing the same fate a second time over was inexcusable.
"Our life has never been easy, what else is new?" Neveah asked, she had not expected it would come to this but even so she would not despair.
"Indeed." Neveah's wolf replied and Neveah shook her head slightly, forcing away the dark thoughts from her mind.
