"Hi! Baby," Emily opened to the door further. Her eyes went down to the floor and she frowned, "why is that bag on the floor?"
Leah mimicked her mothers expression and looked down to where she found two bags of what she had brought from the grocery store on the ground.
Chills shot up her spine and for a moment, her heart refused to let her look any further and bags that were on the floor.
Leah willed herself into it. She lifted her eyes, and her eyes went straight to the left.
The bags on the floor and then the lift. No one stood in between.
She looked in the other direction. She did not find anyone even there. No one was stored in the corridor except for her.
"Leah?" Emily touched her shoulder. "What's wrong?"
Leah's eyes went to her mother and she smiled. "Nothing. I dropped them while feeding the code in."
