Chapter 5 - CH. 5: The Window Is Open

"Please cut all the straight parts and return it to its platinum blond color," she said to the beautician after sitting down.

"This is a very expensive place, are you sure you can afford it?"

As the dresser agreed, someone on the side commented.

Looking at her Heather frowned, she was trying to remember just who this person is.

Even with her amazing memory, as long as it was someone she really hadn't met, her mind would automatically not register it.

Seeing as she didn't recognize her, the lady instantly frowned.

She has shoulder length straight brown hair with bangs.

"It must really be sad being unable to go out for being an embarrassment to the Porter Family, you don't even know anyone from the high circles."

Heather blinked, "Well I guess unimportant people are people I don't need to remember."

The lady frowned and turned red.

That look made Heather remember who it was.

Jessy Anderson, daughter of another winery company, had seen her in so many winery events in the past before she was disowned.

Heather exaggeratedly gasped.

"I remember now, you were that one who kept on following Hunter Relish in those events years ago, yet he ignored you completely and no matter how many times, he kept asking who you were. Or are you still doing that up to this day?"

Some suppressed giggles could be heard.

"Someone disowned has no right to speak of them."

"I may be disowned but they haven't passed a law stating I couldn't speak about people. Because I am very sure that if they would hand it in, the first person who couldn't utter their name would be you."

Before Jessy could reply, Heather looked at the dresser and handed her a card.

"Don't worry I can pay, please proceed. You can do the payment first if you don't believe me."

She wasn't the least bit offended that others would think she wouldn't be able to afford it because she really lived like a pauper for the last few years.

The dresser didn't dilly dally and made the payment.

The card Heather gave was not a credit card, it was a card that will deduct the payment directly from the bank.

After watching the dresser leave, Heather looked back at Jessy.

"I may be disowned but I am capable enough. How about you? I bet what you are holding now is a credit card that is from your father."

Jessy turned even redder because it was the truth.

She was already holding the card ready to pay but was now too ashamed to bring it out because Heather paid with her own card.

The card holder name was hers as well plus a password should be punched in before the payment would be successful.

When the dresser returned with it, Heather punched the password and the payment was successful.

"Do you want me to pay for you as well?" she even smiled at her.

Jessy said that she may not be able to pay it but Heather just did, even offered to pay for hers.

"I am sure you are just acting with your last bit of money," Jessy argued.

Heather looked at her with a smile that said, 'Stop digging your own grave even more.'

The rest of the customers are now giggling openly at how much Jessy had embarrassed herself.

When she came today she was acting as if she owns the place, picking at each and everyone of them.

Who would have thought that the tables would turn on her upon the entry of this person.

They knew about Heather of course.

But what they know of her was that she remained inside the house and has a different character than what she was showing now.

Jessy walked out of that place feeling embarrassed and indignant.

But she has no other retort, she will just have to complain to her father about this.

Heather didn't care about any of that and simply had a change.

When everything was done, all of those who were present were shocked.

In the past years and after being disowned, she was rarely seen in public.

Most have forgotten that her natural hair color was a platinum blond but the color closer to being gray.

Receiving it from the blood of her great great grandfather who was a foreigner.

Though it was already lacking in her brothers, it somehow became prominent in her.

Even her gray eyes that she always hid with contact lenses.

Now back to their original color, everyone found her mesmerizing.

Her eyes were so captivating, one would find themself being sucked into it when they stared straight at them.

"How refreshing."

She stretched and thanked the dresser, giving her a tip before stepping out of that place, ignoring the looks she was receiving.

She went to the restroom and got changed into black jeans, blue sneakers and blue hoodie that was two sizes more than her normal size.

"Now, off to our next destination, Venie."

She even gave her car a name.

She drove off and arrived at an area where most buildings are about technologies and weapons.

She parked her car in the parking lot of a condominium and went up to the twentieth floor.

She ended up coughing when upon entry, dust was actually what welcomed her.

The place was a studio type one.

With minimal furniture, it was so simple showing that no one was truly living in it.

She walked over to open the curtains and windows on the east side of the place.

That window was facing the floor of the office of the president of Lishter Artillery.

It was a company that bloomed about eight years ago.

It started off with simple modified weapons and very slowly became bigger and bigger.

That is why Lishter Artillery may still be young but it was already famous all throughout the country.

There was a rumor that they are planning to start with modified technological weapons and talks about it are ongoing.

But up to now, it was still unsure if it will come to life.

After opening the window and looking at the opposite building, she smiled and started cleaning up the place.

She didn't bother looking down at the busy road, all she did was to open the window.

Half an hour later, the president of Lishter Artillery returned to his office with a tired face.

He just had a very long meeting.

Adam Brown, a 30 year old bachelor with medium length hair that was always styled in a brush up manner.

He loosened his tie and removed his gray suit.

With a sigh he stood by the window and looked at a certain direction.

And just as he thought it was still open.

He shook his head and turned around, but stopped on his tracks after taking just a step.

Open?

He turned to look back at the window that was closed for the past two years.

His eyes went wide when he found the window open.

Without a care of his look he rushed out of his office.

"It's open."

He slammed his hands on the table of the secretary just outside his office.

The secretary looked up at him in shock before fixing her glasses that almost fell off because of her sudden movement.

She had black straight waist length hair that is tied with a ponytail.

"Calm down, what do you mean it's open?" she asked him.

"The window is open Elie!!"

A look of excitement appeared on Adam's face as he spoke of this.

It was a good thing that they were the only ones on that floor.

If not, the staff would surely be shocked at this.

Adam always had a dignified mature look.

But right now, his tie was loose, he wasn't wearing his suit and he was looking so excited, something no one has ever seen for the past years.

"Adam, we're in the office, calm down."

Elizabeth Stuart, a twenty eight year old young lady said that if her glasses were gone, her big round eyes and long lashes would come into full view.

And one will see beauty.

Her aura was always a strict one because of her glasses that barely anyone tried to approach her.

People of the company only know that their president, the secretary and the top scientist of the company were the pioneers of the company.

Other than that, there was none.

Adam was used to calling her Elie whenever they are not at work because they grew up together.

"Oh," Adam took deep breaths before smiling.

"The window is open."

"Are you sure you are not hallucinating?" Elizabeth asked but even she was happy to hear it.

Both of them had been waiting for two long years, no not just them but the third one as well.

It has been so long since then and they were close to giving up.

Adam smiled and pulled her to the office bringing her by the window.

And just as he had said, the window was indeed open.
