"What took you so long?" Jude immediately said when he heard Ava's voice. "I thought I am going to die!"
However, just as he was about to approach Ava, he stopped walking, his face turning ugly.
"Stay away," Matthew said. He was standing just in front of Ava and Jude.
"Why are you here?"
"To save you."
"You— Why would you— I don't need your help!"
"Funny how you thought I am willing to help you, Mr. Caro. The only reason why I am here is that I wanted to help your hand. Do you think I would let you hold her hand as you transport yourselves back to the ground?"
"Why are you being mean? I am injured!"
"You aren't."
"…" Jude glared at him.
"Alright, you don't have to be so mean," Ava said. "He didn't come here to save you, he came here because he didn't want me to touch the rogues' body." She clarified.
"Why does it sound like your words are actually meaner?"
