Chapter 27
I saw someone I immediately recognised — and not happily.
"Do you know him?" I heard Xavier and I slowly shifted my face towards him.
I shook my head. "I don't think so."
He gave me a suspicious glance before nodding. "Run face recognition and let me know the results ASAP. Scarlet, come with me."
I nodded slowly and followed him out of the room. As soon as we entered the elevator, he stopped it and turned to me.
I gulped at his intense gaze. "So, is he another one of your exes?"
"Huh?"
"I asked—"
"I mean, of course not. I don't know him!" I replied and looked sideways.
"Yeah?"
"Yes."
"Baby you shouldn't lie to your partners, you know that?" He whispered. "And you need drama classes."
I looked at him and scoffed. "Shut up."
"I feel like I am in an abusive relationship. Damn." He shook his head and said with an expression that made me chuckle.
