Chapter 8 - His sisters

Surprisingly, the human leaned more closer to her and she felt his warm breath on her skin. The human has a lot of nerves.

"There is nothing I can't do....." he whispered in her ear in a sultry voice, but the woman reminded still and not moved by his closeness to her.

He heard her smirk and hold his hand, and just like that, he was drawn into a thick darkness which dissipated immediately it appeared. He opened his mouth and closed it when he found himself in the room he had left Isabel. When did they leave? He knew there was a change of environment but he never took notice of where they were or if Isabel was with them.

The woman left his hand, still having a wily smile on her face. She looked at his sister and pointed at her. "She will be dead soon, but I can still let her live only if you satisfy my thirst. I am hungry and only blood satisfies me." She faced him and her hazel eyes turned bright red, "Get me a human sacrifice..." she licked her lips hungrily and disappeared in the darkness, leaving the human and his half dead sister alone.

Darren stared at nothing as her words kept repeating itself in his head. 'A human sacrifice?' What is he? A desperate man trying to get power from the devil that requires a sacrifice? What exactly is this woman intention?

He closed his eyes and rubbed the back of his neck and exhaled lowly. His sister was in danger, does he really have a choice? He will have to get a sacrifice for her to let Isabel go.

He opened his eyes again, and looked out the window with a broad frown on his face. He has to do it. Darren looked at his sister once more and left the room.

....

LOCATION: AVRONE GAMING COMPANY.

Amby clicked continuously on her mouse with her eyes fixed on her computer screen. She was searching for an important information in the web which she looked so serious about. A ring from her phone forced her to look away from the screen.

She picked up the phone and a sigh of relief escaped her lips.

Answering the call, she said immediately, "I will be out in a minute. I'll meet you at the usual place."

She looked back at the computer and adjusted her glasses. Her gaze fell on the the antique Jar displaying on the screen and her lips formed a satisfied smile. The jar was priceless cause it's invaluable, but she knew where it was and would get it. Amby sent the information to her phone and left her office placing her brown coat on her shoulder.

It was night and not so many people were in the building. The few ones who were still working are those who were still busy with their works while some were there because of the group designs assigned to them.

Amby greeted some workers on the way as she walked pass them with a smile, heading for the elevator. Having lived for years, she did all she could to blend with each passing generations and have learnt the human ways and how they do. To live a life with no worries means to live a life that pleases them. Horrible mindsets.

She entered the elevator and met the disgusted look of the section one designing supervisor, the one who annoys her the most. She pressed the last floor button and stayed behind the lady with her head lowered.

The woman sighed in exasperation and looked at Amby who was looking down.

She rolled her eyes, "Stop pretending to be so well-mannered, we are alone here."

Amby stood straight and looked at her, "You are my superior, I have no choice."

Joanna tsked and backed her, facing the door, "You are right, I am your superior and you should respect that. I don't know why this company hires rat this days, I have a lot of screening out to do when I get my promotion." she muttered loud enough for Amby to hear her clearly and walked out of the opened door.

Amby rolled her hand into a fist and raised a corner of her upper lips. "Just have to annoy me," she said and crossed her arms beneath her bosoms. A worker entered in and the door closed. "Wish I had the powers of Ambrosia, I would have dealt her," she mumbled under her breath earning a chuckle from the male staff whose back was facing her.

She rolled her eyes and looked away.

"I thought you look cute when clumsy, but you are cuter when angry," he said.

"You don't have to annoy me again please," she answered staring at his back.

The man turned and raised a brow at her, "You don't have to be mad at me, I am not that lady."

Recognizing who he was, she quickly bowed her head, "I didn't recognize you sir. I am sorry mr. Vladimir."

He waved his hand at her and smiled, "This is the third time we met so drop the formalities. Call me Luther."

"I can't call you that, you are my boss."

"I am not your boss. I am an artist in a different organization, and I am sure you earn more than I do. In social status, you are my boss."

"That is not...." The elevator stopped and the lights went off.

Luther looked you and clicked his tongue, "Not again, this is the second time I am getting stuck in this elevator. Father needs to take care of it as soon as possible," he complained, scratching his nose.

A soft hand gripped his and he heard the faint panting of the clumsy lady beside him. He was shocked at the suddenly hold on him, but let her hold on to him understanding her fear of darkness.

He raised a corner of his lips as her grip on his hand tightened. The lady beside him fascinated him all the more. She was the one who was angry when he walked in, but now scared of the dark.

The more he sees her the more she does something that makes her cute.

The light turned back on and the elevator was working again. He looked at the scared lady whose eyes were closed, shivering beside him. When she realized that the lights were back on, she opened her eyes and met the pair of brown eyes staring at her. She let go of him and adjusted her shirt, faking a cough.

"I'm sorry.....," she apologized feeling embarrassed at the way she had grabbed her boss's son for protection. She was used to every other thing but not dark places cause it reminds her of her dark past.

The door opened and without a minute, she rushed out of it.

"Miss you haven't told me your name...." he called out aloud.

"Amby....." she replied not sure if he heard her, and walked away hurriedly. She was so embarrassed to even look at him. "You stupid Amby, why are you so unfortunate? That is your boss son," she yelled at herself as she waved at a taxi outside the building.

Looking across the road, a gasp escaped her lips. The man she least expected to see ever again was standing across the road, waving at her.

She waved at him and crossed over to meet him.

"Uncle!" she called surprised he was standing before her. "I never thought I would see you again."

Edwin smiled at her and patted her cheeks, "My angel." Ambrosia and Ambylla (Amby) were the only ones he had on earth. Ambrosia is the main person, and Ambylla is her other self given birth to by a different mother. They are same people. His sisters.

"You don't look happy, is there something wrong?"

He sighed and pointed at a restaurant, "Let's go there. We need to talk."
