The road was desolate since it is too cold in winters and the sunset is early. Due to the dark days, many men finish their work early and leave for their homes.
And Ophelia had taken the desolate path intentionally to hide her steps that lead others toward the abode of girls. But who would have thought that these foolish men would follow her in such a dark path.
