Vanessa felt like she was going to blow up in frustration as she stood still in front of the middle-aged lady who was looking her over to make sure the details written down in the document tallied with what she was seeing. This was probably the fourth, or perhaps the fifth person checking her out within the space of two hours since she stepped her foot in the office. One would think she was there for a modeling or movie audition, but that wasn't what was going on. She was actually here for something she still couldn't believe she was doing. Something she knew was going to change the course of her life forever but couldn't be helped.

The middle-aged lady circled Vanessa as she read out everything on the file and then stopped in front of her to assess her facial features one more time, "Teeth." She ordered Vanessa to display her dentition.

Vanessa took a deep breath to calm her temper which was already getting frayed, before displaying her dentition. The lady acted like she didn't notice the irritable look on Vanessa's face as she nodded her head, "Will do." She said with a nod of approval before walking away.

Vanessa desperately hoped this was the final supervision. She wasn't sure she could take any more of these assessments. It wasn't like she had approached them first for this job. They had approached her because they thought she looked fit, so why were they making her go through so much stress? The most humiliating had been the moment she had been asked to strip to be checked for hidden tattoos before her x-ray and scan.

Well, she definitely couldn't complain. Her father was to blame for all the embarrassment and humiliation she had been facing since his death. Being an orphan and the legal guardian of her younger sister Sophia, she had to do all she could to make sure they were both okay, even if it meant carrying the child of a man she knew next to nothing about.

She still wasn't sure how she felt about what she was doing, or rather, how she felt about what she was about to do. But she had made up her mind not to think about it until she had managed to do what needed to be done. This was the only way she could afford to pay off all the debts her late father had incurred as a result of his incessant gambling. She had had to change jobs too often because every time she managed to get a job somewhere new, they always managed to find her and embarrass her at her workplace, leaving her no other option than to leave. She sighed as she remembered the last embarrassment she had faced before this offer had been made by the stranger.

Alexander Moore stood by his office window with a pensive look on his face as he awaited the confirmatory call from the doctor. He had been told just a few days ago that they had found a lady who fit his descriptions perfectly, and she was going to be examined that morning.

Alex knew most men his age weren't single at age thirty, and those who were as rich as he was already had a baby or two. But he had always told himself marriage wasn't made for everyone. So, of course, he had chosen to be among those selected few who weren't willing to be held down by the shackles of marriage and commitment. He had seen enough broken homes and was even from one, and as such, he wasn't ready to taste such waters, and that was why he had opted for this option. His best friend Kyle had initially called it madness the first time he had brought it up during their usual hangouts, but after a while, Kyle had seen reasons with him.

He was a man with a ravenous appetite and hormones coursing through his veins, and that was why there were a plethora of women ready to graze his bed at his beck and call, but none was suitable to be his wife or even his baby mama.

What he wanted was simple. A lady... not just any lady but one who would meet his exact specifications and who was willing to allow herself to be artificially inseminated. She would carry his baby for the complete term, and upon childbirth, the baby would be handed to him. He had made it clear he had no desire to know who the lady was, and he also didn't want her to know anything about him. That way, everyone was safe. The last thing he needed was for some psycho lady stalking his child years later or even blackmailing him.

So, of course, having made up his mind on that, he had contacted a private doctor who had charged an outrageous sum of money but was willing to get the job done while protecting his privacy.

He could still remember the incredulous look on the doctor's face by the time he had finished listing out the physical attributes of the lady he wanted to carry his baby.

But being the professional he was, or probably because of the amount of money involved, he had calmly asked, "Anything else?"

"That will be it." Alex had replied, his gaze still fixed on the man.

"I'll find you a match in no distant time, even if I have to tour the world." The man had promised.

"I look forward to hearing from you." Alexander had told him.

Alex was jolted out of his musings by the sound of his ringtone. He took the call the moment he saw it was the doctor, "Yes?" He asked hopefully.

"She is the perfect candidate!" The doctor announced, sounding almost as excited as Alex who closed his eyes in relief.

"How am I sure you're not deceiving me?" Alex asked with narrowed eyes. Being the shrewd businessman he was, he knew the doctor could decide to trick him since he wasn't going to be having any physical contact with the lady.

"Well, you could ask a random person to check her out and confirm the validity of my claims. But I can assure you, she is perfect!" He said confidently.

"Okay then. Let's get started with the process." Alex said before dropping the call. He had a huge grin on his face as he considered the possibility of having his own baby in less than a year.
