Their visits to the Arnoux Clan continued and Devyn would always come with her father with something in her sleeves. That place marked her mind and the second time she went there, she saw the boy again.
It became their secret hideout. They talked about random things and stuff about themselves. Devyn will always ask her mom to bake ehr cookies before going to the Arnoux mansion and secretly give it to the boy.
That boy who introduced himself as Kiel.
"Why are you scared of your father?" Devyn asked while they were enjoying the view of the sunset above their heads.
Kiel stopped munching the cookie in his hands. "He's scary. He told me that if I follow him, he will not hurt my younger sister."
"You have a younger sister?" Devyn tilted her head to him.
Kiel nodded. "I want to protect my younger sister. My father told me to not give him headaches and be a good boy." His hands trembled. "I don't want my younger sister to cry."
