Chapter 4 - About Traum

Talisa immediately put on the robe to cover her nightgown which was too thin and open. Darius had already turned and was walking ahead of her out of the luxurious bedroom. Talisa was forced to jog to catch up with Darius. Talisa found a pair of sandals in the corner of the room before leaving, she immediately put them on and then hurriedly followed Darius. Her legs still felt weak, but she could stand up now.

Shortly after leaving the room, Talisa was even more amazed at how big and spacious this house was. She gaped at the luxurious interior which was like a five-star hotel. The smell of roasted chicken wafted from downstairs, perhaps from the kitchen, making Talisa feel very hungry.

Darius quickly descended the stairs, Talisa forced her limp legs to move faster, following Darius down the stairs which were covered with smooth carpet.

"You are going to explain to me about all this, right?" Talisa asked.

"During lunch. I'm already hungry," Darius replied, without even looking back.

Talisa was about to protest because she was very curious about what was happening right now and she thought Darius was delaying the explanation, but her stomach was already very hungry. Talisa couldn't resist the food, what's more, the smell of the roasted chicken made her starve even more.

Darius led her to a luxurious dining room with a large long table. The room reminded Talisa of the dining room in palaces, like the ones she saw in royal movies. The food was already on the table, too much for the two of them to eat. Darius then sat in the main seat, at the end of the table, while Talisa was still stunned by all this sight.

"Sit down," Darius said in an even tone and cold face.

"Where?" Talisa asked confused because of the many chairs.

Darius looked at Talisa with that cold gaze.

"As you like," he replied. Talisa could sense the annoyance in Darius' tone even though his face remained flat and cold, emotionless. Darius doesn't seem to like Talisa, that's what Talisa realizes at this point. Talisa then walked over and sat beside Darius.

Suddenly several waiters came, then took food to Talisa and Darius's plate. Luxurious food consists of a full course set like in a fine dining restaurant that Talisa has never experienced before. Now in front of her is a bowl of soup complete with toast for the appetizer.

"Eat," Darius ordered again.

For some reason, Talisa obeyed the man's orders, even though she did feel hungry. She started holding her spoon and eating.

"Morgan and Elena are the last two earth-elemental masters, besides you, but they are not your real parents," Darius said, almost making Talisa choke.

Talisa looked at Darius with wide eyes. She never knew about it. Her mother and father never spoke or showed any sign that they had such superpowers.

"I don't know why they hid it from you. But clearly, that is the reality. You are the daughter of the Lord of the Earth Elemental masters. Jonathan and Zoya are your real biological parents. When the fire element masters attack your village, they send Morgan and Elena, their most loyal servants, to bring you out of Traum. At that time, you were still a baby," Darius replied.

"Traum?" Talisa asked.

"You and I are from Traum. A hidden land where people like us live. To be more precise, we hide from humans who don't have the power to protect ourselves and our inherited power. The founders of Traum believed that humans without power would contaminate the power of the elemental masters. Not to mention their destructive envy and greed. Moreover, if an elemental master, married an ordinary human, their descendants would not have any power. Over time, the power of the elements will disappear," Darius said while spooning his soup gracefully.

"This doesn't make sense," Talisa said, shaking her head.

Darius looked at her sharply, as if telling Talisa to explain her sentence just now. Talisa swallowed hard because the cold stare made her heart flutter.

"If Traum exists, why isn't it in the geography or the world map? Surely someone will find it," said Talisa.

"You don't understand the true magic that lies within you. It's really sad," said Darius.

Talisa looked at Darius while frowning not understanding.

"Traum is protected with magic. The location is magical. Even the people of Traum themselves, like you and I who were driven out of Traum, won't be able to find them again," said Darius.

"Driven out? Can't go back? What about the last night's forest? Isn't that the magical place you're referring to?" Talisa asked, half laughing. She couldn't stop herself from laughing, because everything she heard seemed like a ridiculous joke.

"Stupid… That forest isn't Traum. But I'm sure, Traum is not far from there, it's just that the door disappeared and I lost access to find it again," said Darius.

"Okay then… Why did you get kicked out of there?" Talisa asked while lifting her chin slightly as if to challenge Darius to tell more of his lies. Talisa didn't believe Darius' story at all. It's like a story in a fairy tale world.

"I'm surprised after everything that happened you still don't believe everything I say. Do you think what happened earlier was a magic show? Are you an idiot or what?" asked Darius.

Talisa couldn't answer Darius' question. It's true what he said. Talisa felt the power emanating from within her. If it's only about the green light, all that can be done with some tricks. But that feeling, then that open ground, how can Talisa explain it? Now she was silent, unable to speak.

"So…"

"I was expelled from there because I was the only renegade fire element master. I believe that every elemental master should unite peacefully, that's how all harmony will be created. George Greyhound, the leader of the fire elemental masters wants to rule over all Traum and even the whole world. He hunted the other elements and made them his slaves," said Darius, continuing his story. Now Talisa began to listen seriously.

"Taking the hearts of the leaders of other elemental masters can make him master that element. He had now mastered the elements of water and air, but the leader of the earth element masters chose to commit suicide by destroying their hearts. Those are your parents. So angry, George killed all the masters of the earth element. Now only you are left, and your heart is the heart he needed. He needs you to rule the whole world."

"I-I…" Talisa stuttered, not knowing what to say.

"The point is you are in danger, Talisa. I will protect you," said Darius.

Talisa was stunned to hear that. Her heart was beating fast.

"So that George can't rule the world," Darius continued again, breaking all of Talisa's feelings just now.

"How did you find out all my past?" Talisa asked then. All of this happened when Talisa was a baby, how could Darius know that? He looked only a few years older than Talisa.
