It was quiet, impossibly quiet and I could hear the sound of my own beating heart because of the dead silence. The sound of my throat moving up and down echoed in my ears, my sharp breathing as I took in the cold air that now hung over the area, my orbs caught notice of the particles of snow descending.
My hands still trembled but I held my dagger firm. My eyes did not depart from this Beast not even for a second.
The beast watched me and did not make a move. I began to ponder for how long… maybe it was waiting for me to make the first move… my grip further tightened on my dagger, was this some sort of sick game for it? It killed my comrades and now it wants to toy with me?
