Something flashed in Dace's eyes the moment I replied but it was quickly written off with the same emotionless features of his.
The last thing I remember was being caged by his beast form and the rest was blurry, I think I must have hit my head or something because I don't remember anything else aside from that. Having that thought in mind I rubbed the back of my head, there was no ache so I assumed I must have healed.
His gaze remained on me and he didn't even blink for a second. It became unsettling because it looked like he wanted to unravel my secrets with his piercing gaze like he wanted to see the very inside of me.
I thought that very moment when he cornered me in his beast form would be my last.
"Why didn't you kill me?"
"Why did you escape?" he countered back ignoring my question.
