"Gina! Hold on!" Zeryon's screaming voice made Gina's eyes widen again.
She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself and clear her mind. She knew she couldn't let herself get lost in the moment, as much as she wanted to.
The wind around spinning fast. The portal headed to the underworld slowly shrank and increasingly suck on existing objects. Zeryon also tried to pull Gina not into it. And finally he managed to save the young woman.
Gina stumbled backward as Zeryon's strong arms caught her, pulling her away from the vortex's pull. She felt a wave of relief wash over her, grateful for Zeryon's quick thinking and even quicker reflexes.
Together, they stumbled back, gasping for air as they tried to catch their breath. Gina looked up at Zeryon, her eyes full of gratitude and something else that she couldn't quite place. She felt her heart racing, her thoughts jumbled and confused.
