Chapter 24 - Summoning Spell 2 (Zeryon)

People screamed loudly, and it was very heartbreaking. Zeryon was shocked when he noticed a black and large creature ruffling the art stage that was being prepared. The students seemed to be scattering for cover.

This creature appeared to have risen from the underwold to the earth's surface. He didn't even change himself to become human first. The surrounding eyes stared at the creature with curiosity mixed with fear.

"Let's get out of here, Gina!" Zeryon gave the order.

Instead of fleeing to save herself, the young woman approached the two-meter-tall creature.

His long fingernails gripped the shoulder of a young, narrow-eyed woman. Her face jutted out towards him, her tongue sticking out dripping with saliva.

The woman screamed loudly.

"Gina! Don't go near that creature! It's dangerous!" Zeryon shouted.

Gina quickly got behind the creature, lifting her right leg into the air, then twisting her body, and lunging at the creature so that it bounced sideways and his body slammed into the wall. Until there was a crackling sound as if something was broken.

"Oh, I didn't see that coming," Zeryon said.

According to his vision, the movements that Gina made were not random movements. Her kick represented discipline, balance and grace. He recognized it was a karate move.

It made sense for him now why her arm muscles looked strong. And her movement was agile when she caught the attack in the queue fight yesterday.

This young woman was getting more and more his attention. She was something else.

The creature rose, his red eyes staring intently at Gina, blazing a fiery rage ready to burn anyone.

"How dare you..." the creature said in a half-whisper.

The creature lunged at Gina, who was assisting the narrow-eyed woman on her way. She looked quite shocked.

Zeryon reflexively slammed his back on the creature so that Gina was untouched by it.

Gina turned around. Their position was not far apart. Gina's hand reflexively grabbed Zeryon's shoulder to keep him from falling. Their eyes fixed on each other.

The blue eyes were clear and teary. "Are you okay?" Gina asked.

Zeryon nodded, then he took her hand and lowered it. He turned around.

When the creature attacked again, Zeryon deflected it by aiming his hand right at the creature's neck and strangling it.

The creature groaned loudly. His body floundered and both hands tried to get rid of Zeryon's grip.

When the creature seemed to have weakened, Zeryon let go of his hand. The creature fell limp.

Footsteps were heard coming into the art party hall. The guards in blue uniforms came, then immediately grabbed the creature's shoulders until it stood up on its own.

Meanwhile the other guards checked the entire room. Scattered art ornaments everywhere, messy tables and chairs and the students were no longer there. They have already left this place.

Zeryon immediately approached Gina. "Are you all right?" he asked.

Gina nodded once and said, "Yes, I'm fine. What about you?"

"I'm fine, as you see."

"Thank you for saving us."

"Never mind. How come I let someone get attacked. I would always help."

"But I wonder what creature is that?" Gina asked.

He was not really sure how he had to explain to her that the creature wasn't a human, but a demon from the underworld. Maybe she wouldn't believe it.

Even if she believed, maybe Gina didn't want to go to school anymore and didn't want to see him again.

"The creature is actually—"

He was about to answer the question but a man's voice interrupted.

"Did you forget that this is an art academy?" One of the guards answered. "This guy might definitely wearing a costume," he continued.

Gina's gaze shifted to the uniformed man. "But why he acted like that? Attacking people?"

"It seems that he was in psychotic episodes. But we don't know yet. We will investigate it first," he responded.

Gina just gave a slight nod.

Zeryon let out a sigh of relief. Fortunately, that question has already been answered. Even though he knew that the guard was lying. They had always done that to keep all information about the art academy safe.

The guards immediately dragged the creature out. He groaned and squirmed. They held him tighter.

Gina was still standing watching the creature from a distance. Her forehead seemed to frown. Then her attention switched to the narrow-eyed young woman who came over to her.

"Gina, I hope you're okay," the young woman said, then she hugged her.

"Yes, Emelle. I didn't know you were interested to come here either," Gina responded, rubbing her shoulder.

"I was already planning to participate in preparing for this art party. When I just arrived, that horrible creature suddenly appeared and attacked me," Emelle Lee explained.

"You'd better go home. Looks like the preparations will be suspended and resume tomorrow. It's going to take a long time to sort this mess out anyway." Zeryon interrupted their conversation.

"That's a better plan. See you tomorrow," Gina said to Zeryon, then she turned to Emelle Lee, "Let's go home, Emelle."

Emily nodded slowly. But Zeryon felt Emelle's gaze could not leave him.

"Did something happen to you?" Zeryon asked directly.

Emelle shook her head. Then she asked Gina to go home soon, and she agreed.

There was a sense of disappointment seeping into Zeryon's soul. He couldn't spend time with Gina. But he felt good at least to see she was fine. That was the most important thing.

Vargas came over to Zeryon with a pale face and he asked, "How did that creature come to the academy?"

"It seems to be the effect of the summoning spell being sung in music class." Zeryon drew his own conclusions.

"If that so. That will add problems for us humans."

Zeryon couldn't deny that. The demons who disguise themselves as global elites and celebrities to drain human energy had became a big problem already. He couldn't imagine when it was added to the demons that are wild and unrestrained. He wouldn't know what would happen to the earth.
