Belladonna waved the torch in front of the dragon, fighting back with the only thing that she had with her.
The dragon seemed to have smirked, as if questioning her sensibility.
Like it was asking her questions that mocked her down to her very being.
Fire? To threaten a dragon?
Really?
Her teeth clattered with fear along with the steps of the beast and she looked up as it towered over her, beastly in all its dangerous glory.
Her heart twisted and she reminded herself not to stumble to the floor, to hold her ground, not to turn away from the beast, and not to give it a chase that every predator enjoyed, but her body was jumping to instinctive survival and she had no training for this.
