Chapter 2 - "Introduce you to my fiancé, Alexander"

Entering the office room, he looked around. Sarah said he could use hers but the management told him to use the empty office room that was reserved for the contract lecturer every time they have one.

He turned the chair before sitting down. Sighing, he looked at his phone. Melinda has blocked his number and he couldn't contact her at all, even on social media. He just wanted to ask the reason as to why she asked for a break up. If the reason was because he proposed, he could stop doing it until she was ready but instead she disappeared without any explanation.

To add on to his disheartened heart, he was fooled by his dad. Last two days, Adam went back home, healthy and happy looking at him. It was not like he wanted his brother to be sick but he was so frustrated that he was easily tricked by his wicked dad.

He remembered asking Adam, then he said, "What happened? Nothing. I just got back from a business trip. Did anything happen that I am supposed to know?"

When he heard that, his blood boiling, he then asked him regarding his admission to the hospital three weeks ago.

"Oh. At that time? Appendicitis. I removed mine, it couldn't be save anymore."

Listening to that, his mouth automatically cursed out. Adam couldn't hold his laugh and didn't believe Alex fell for that stupid trick to make him return home.

His smart brain sometimes couldn't work with his family, they knew his weakness and used it to the fullest. To not remember all the things that could ruin his second day of his lecture, he opened his laptop to check his teaching material once again before going to the class.

"Good morning." He formed a smile greeting the first class for the day.

"Morning sir!" The entire class was in uproar returning the greeting. The girls chat with each other and admire the view that was served in front of them.

His first appearance yesterday was already viral when the students spread the information that he would be covering for Sarah for three months and a lot of students anticipated to join his class for today. He went viral for the one reason for sure, his top look!

"So shall we continue with the attendance?" He asked, wanting to proceed quickly.

"Okay, Sir!" The girls' voices echoing around the hall.

"Talia?" He called for a name then saw one girl raising her hand at the back. Nodded, he went back to the students' name list and called for another, "Amanda?"

The whole class was quiet, waiting for someone to answer.

"Amanda?" He asked again.

When everyone was looking around to find the owner of the name, there was this one girl wearing a black cap that kept her head down. She was focusing on drawing something before the person besides her asked if her name was Amanda. Since this was the class for the first year, they didn't know each other much yet.

Startled by the question! She quickly shook her head as she denied that was her name.

"So, Amanda is absent." Alex was ready to note it on the paper when suddenly that same girl stood up.

"Sorry sir! I didn't hear it just now. I am Amanda." She raised her head and looked straight at Alex at the front.

Once again, the class became loud when they saw the girl's face. But in the girl's mind, time stops! The man that she had been waiting for twelve years before the very eyes of her right now.

"Okay Amanda, let's stay focused after this. You can have a seat." He said, forming a straight smile.

She still couldn't believe her eyes. Didn't move an inch, the man that he only saw his face through the picture that Adam shared with her appeared not to know her at all. Of course he wouldn't! He only saw her once when she was ten years old, that was the first and last time they met each other. Alexander, her fiancé, the one that didn't even acknowledge her as one.

"Amanda? Hello? Have a seat." Alex reminded her once again.

"Ah, sorry." She bit her lower lip before taking a seat.

The class ended with her staring at him without doing anything else, and she snapped out of it when everyone stood up to leave the hall.

'Dad didn't mention anything about him going back home.'

She had a lot on her mind before she was pulled by someone as soon as she stepped out of the door.

"Sis!" The girl that pulled her into the corner smiled cheekily looking at her. "Thank you."

She closed her eyes, holding her anger. Her heart almost jumped out of her body, this little girl really needed a smack behind her back.

"Ah sis, don't get mad…" She held her hands, swinging it softly to the left and right.

"No next time. I won't cover for you again. Understand Miss Amanda? I almost got in trouble. I forgot I was sitting on your place." She pinched Amanda's cheek to make sure she got the message.

"Ouchh!" Amanda pushed her hand from her cheek. Her brows almost joined each other as she frowned, holding the pain from the pinching. "Understand. I promise I won't do it again." She pouted.

"Camille…"

The voice that came from their back made her mouthed the word 'shit'.

"What, Ben? What do you want?" She turned, pursed her lips straight.

"Today is already a year, you know. The promise you made." Ben, the nerd that loved to get on Camellia's nerve.

"What promise?" When she asked this she really forgot about the thing that happened a year ago.

Ben's expression changed, he looked disappointed. " You promise to show me your fiancé and if you don't, you say you would go out with me. Don't break the promise, I know you are not that type."

"Did I?!" She was totally shocked with her own promise. Recalled, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

'Please brain, functioning right now. What should I do, what should I do?'

She opened her eyes and gave him a warmth smile, "I think I was drunk at that time, so it is not valid, right?"

"You are totally sober and if you want, I have the recording of your voice telling the promise." Ben replied.

Her eyes widened, her words stuck on her throat. Looking around, it seemed like they were starting to get crowded. A lot of people knew her because of her doll-like face. She was pretty with doe eyes, an angelic smile with two cute dimples near her lips. She was known as the angel of the fashion department but right now, the man in front of her was getting on her nerves. This was really the first time something like this happened. She had a lot of admirers, even so, no one, no one bothered her as much as Ben did.

At that moment, her brain was doing a lot of thinking on how to get out of the situation. She started to neaten her bangs that were not even messy, "I will give the answer tomorrow." She pulled Amanda's hand that was also panicked at the moment to get out of there.

"No Camille, you promise. Today is the last day." Ben stopped her by standing before her. He fixed his glasses and formed a smile that looked so annoying in Camellia's eyes.

"What is happening here?" The deep voice that came as a saviour made every eyes that were there turned.

Camellia's eyes sparkling. Alexander came at the right moment. She rushed to his side and naturally wrapped her hand around Alex's arm.

Alex looked at the hand that was tightly wrapped around his arm then continued looking at her face that didn't look awkward at all.

"I'm sorry I am late, but yes, introduce you to my fiancé, Alexander."
