Édouard head slipped down the headboard and his eyes opened. He sat straight and rubbed his eyes before looking at Charlotte. It was morning, yet Charlotte was not woken up.
The red color of her lips had returned as Damien told him last night. The poison was not anymore in her body, but why she was not waking up?
Édouard brushed the curls of her hair softly and thought to call Damien to check on Charlotte. Before he could get off the bed, he heard a knock on the door and Zoe opened it a little.
She peeked in and then lowered her gaze. "Your Grace, Prince Damien is here," she informed Édouard.
He first got out of bed and asked Zoe to let Damien inside. Zoe bowed and opened the door for Damien.
He walked in and smiled to see Édouard. Zoe stayed at the door with a nervous and concerned gaze.
