Tove walked inside a room where Rainard had called for her. She had never been to this side of the palace. In the room, there was nothing except a table and two chairs at the center.
"Have a seat," Rainard said as he entered the room after her. She turned her head and saw him walk past her.
Rainard remained standing until Tove took the seat.
"Mysterious, right?" Rainard asked her.
"Yes, Your Excellency," Tove replied.
"You don't need to fear anything hear. I am the Knight of Prince Édouard. You are taken here because you will answer some of my questions and help me reach Maurice," he asserted.
Tove gulped and fiddled with her fingers.
"I saw you were conversing with a man. He was Maurice Turner, right?" Rainard inquired. When Tove did not respond, he continued, "Nothing will happen to your family. They are under our protection. So, you need to tell me the truth."
Tove lowered her eyes and tears rolled over her cheeks.
