Édouard forwarded his hand to Charlotte, who inquisitively gazed at him. "It is the time to fulfill my promise to you to watch the sunrise and sunset from the ocean side," he declared.
Charlotte looked at Édouard, her eyes filled with a sense of wonder. "But what about your work? Has it been completed?" she inquired, concerned about the responsibilities he may have had to attend to.
"Rest assured, my love, my work here is done," Édouard reassured her with a gentle smile. "I took care of all the paperwork this morning. Now, take my hand, my dear wife," he requested, leaning forward slightly.
Charlotte smiled at him and placed her hand above his. Édouard stood tall and helped her hop the horse. After her, he mounted the horse, taking hold of the reins.
Charlotte tilted her head and asked, "Why did you not choose a different horse?"
