"Mathieu was murdered, Father. He didn't die naturally. He was poisoned slowly on the orders of Casimir," Édouard pronounced.
Christian ceased to blink and he stumbled as he was taken aback by the sudden revelation. He glanced at Casimir and asked him why he did that. "Why did you poison my son? Whom did you ask to poison Mathieu?" he questioned.
"Your Majesty, Prince Édouard's accusations lack foundation. I would never commit such an act. Please have faith in my unwavering loyalty to the King," Casimir asserted firmly.
"Shut your mouth," Édouard said. "There is no way you'll escape this prison unless I make you speak the truth from your own mouth," he stated and shifted his attention to his father.
