Charlotte was standing in front of the magical fountain and looked into the water. She touched it again, but nothing happened. She shut her eyes and joined her both hands asking the water spirit to answer her once, but nothing happened.
Sighing, she opened her eyes. "I thought you took away the sorrows by answering the questions," she murmured.
She bent a little and again waved her hand in the water. when she took her hand out, she found her red emerald ring was gone. She panicked and quickly put her entire hand into the water fountain.
She touched its marble surface but didn't find the ring. She pulled her hand out and thought for a second before immersing her head in the water.
She saw the ring and quickly grabbed it when a hand pulled her out. She gasped for air and opened her eyes to see the person who did that.
"Édouard," Charlotte whispered his name and smiled at him.
"What were you doing here?" Édouard asked. His big hands cupped her cheeks.
