A wide scornful smile beamed on Valerie's face as he met Xanthus's cold glaring gaze. Seeing him hold the sword within the clasp of his hand, Valerie intently pushed the sword to pierce the skin of his palm, leaving a deep wound.
As blood droplets started dripping down, the vile smile on his face grew big as he responded, "Now, I can sense the sincerity in your tone, Xanthus. Of course, I do remember our deal very well!"
Xanthus realized he intentionally wanted the sword to carve a deep wound on his hand but stayed still and didn't resist him.
Even though blood dripped down from his wounded neck skin as well as his palm, he laid his frozen gaze upon him and answered, "Your Majesty, as long as you keep your words, I will serve my loyalty towards you just as you wanted! I…have followed each and every command until now. But…"
"But?" Suddenly watching his words trail off, Valerie inquired abruptly.
