Squinting his face with pain, Baron flickered his lashes as he tried to open his eyes wide. Regaining his senses back, when he tried to glimpse around his surrounding, he found himself lying down in a dark damp room with minimal sunlight wafting inside.
Moreover, he also sensed himself lying down on a rugged hay mattress and it seemed like any ordinary day of his life. For a fraction of a second, he seemed to convince himself as if he had woken up from a terrible nightmare.
However, when he retrieved his senses fully, a strong gutwrenching pain almost paralyzed the right side of his body, which made him groan. Squinting and grimacing, when he tried to sit up on his own, all of a sudden a terrible sight shuddered him from the core.
His right palm was entirely cut off from his wrist and the amputated injury was plainly bandaged with some medicinal herbs. He realized it wasn't any nightmare but the horrible reality he had to face until his last breath.
