[FLASHBACK: 20 Years Ago]
His painful whimper amidst the clouds rumbling sounded highly helpless. His small, teary golden eyes were filled with despair and just having a glance at them, Melissa froze for a while. Just like Randall had told her, Xanthus seemed on the brink of becoming a complete wreck, having a profoundly petrified look on his face.
Freezing for a while, Melissa couldn't find the accurate words to exclaim her shock to see him in that devastated state. But she stared still into his deprived eyes without saying a word.
However, even though she stayed still, Xanthus lifted up his trembling small hands and clenched the hem of her drenched gown. In a cowered, low voice, he quivered, "M-Melissa…what should I do now? I…I killed Lupi…I killed him with my own hands…"
His words made Melissa glance at the half-dug black rock which was buried into the ground to make it look like a tombstone.
