Keeping a brief silence, Raven narrowed his glaring eyes as he stared at Melissa. Biting her lower lip, she was hardly trying to suppress her tears but her pale face was being twisted with pain and anguish. She couldn't even look at the glass vial-filled aphrodisiac as if immense guilt was swallowing her up.
Raven exhaled a heavy sigh and straightened his back as he stood up from his seat. Proceeding to walk towards the giant glass window, he declaimed in a cold voice, "Melissa, this world is a jungle. If you wanna survive, you gotta fight with your greatest strength. Emotions such as love or guilt shouldn't occupy a royal's heart. You must absolutely discard these shallow emotions when you step into the Merciful castle."
"But…father…" Sobbing bitterly, Melissa clenched the hem of her silk gown and as her legs wobbled, she stumbled down on the ground losing her balance and being petrified from her core.
