Jun's sharp instinct flinched Kirin quite hard, as he didn't expect that coming from him at all! Staying speechless momentarily, Kirin couldn't find the accurate words to give him a proper excuse, apart from nervously fidgeting his fingers.
On the other hand, Jun strode a few steps to reach him close and squinted his small face as he murmured, "Brother Kirin…you are not denying that, so should I think it's true?"
Still fidgeting his fingertips, Kirin exhaled a heavy sigh before he lifted his gaze up to meet his keen eye. He couldn't bring himself to lie to that innocent child and that's how he couldn't hide the guilt-stricken look from his face anymore.
After keeping a slight pause, uttered in a soft, low voice, "I am sorry Jun…but if I tell you that it's true…will you hate me then?"
Jun stayed quiet for a few seconds and only furrowed his brows deeper, inclining his face downwards. His face was darkened and his eyes turned dim.
