The moment when Randall was about to fling his sword down aiming at Noah's neck, a low, deep rumble from Xanthus halted his attempt. Even Noah flinched at the deep masculine voice that echoed inside the room, as he had almost lost all hope to save himself from the messed situation.
Slowly, he opened his tearful eyes and lifted his head up towards the direction where Xanthus was seated still. His golden narrowed eyes were still fixated on Noah like glue, but the smug on his face had completely disappeared by then.
Instead, the dead-serious expression on his handsome face was enough to scare anyone, leaving them unable to look at him directly.
