"What!?" Looking terribly agitated by her answer, Xanthus frowned his brows, grumbling in a low voice.
"I want…to stay by your side in this castle." When Melissa met his fiery gaze, she shuddered a little but didn't go back on her words as she proclaimed.
But a brief intense silence persisted between them before Xanthus stomped his boots and walked a few steps to reach her close. He didn't avert his fierce glare away from her but his facial expression looked quite scary, as he grumpily asked, "You wish to stay by my side? What a ridiculous excuse! Melissa, have you forgotten what I said to you yesterday?"
"I didn't," She coldly answer, lowering her face as her voice shook a little. "I know…you had asked me not to accept the proposal but I…don't see why should I reject it? We…are going to be married after all. Even though I asked His Majesty to postpone our unification ceremony but why should I reject it too—"
