When the old lady reached the large yard of the servant quarter, holding his arm tight, quite a number of male and female servants darted skeptical glances, especially at Noah.
Being drenched wet in the cold, he felt a bit bashful while he was covering his bare upper body with her shawl. But the old lady didn't bother to spare a glance at anyone else and straightaway took him to her room.
It was another small damp room located at the farthest corner of the quarter. As she was the most senior among all the servants, she was allotted a separate room, or else the other younger servants usually share rooms with each other.
The lady took him inside and with a serious face, she handed him a new set of cheap linen clothes for rookie servants which she had arranged for him.
"Change into this one, and I will bring you some food." As she addressed him, she closed the door of the rooms behind and walked outside, leaving him alone.
