It was already early morning. Lying down on the damp hay mattress and covered by a thin quilt, Noah had pretty much difficulty falling asleep. His back was hurting against the cold floor and the mattresses were very worn out.
However, lying next to the old lady was somehow comforting for him. For the very first time in his new scary world, his exhausted body could have a solace rest.
When the early morning prevailed, the old lady as usual got up first and went outside to get over with her duties. But overwhelmed by her affection for him, she didn't bother to wake him up.
Instead, she allowed Noah to have a good sleep for a bit more time. Even she placed her own quilt over his body so that he could feel cozy and warm.
But a peaceful moment usually doesn't last long for him.
After half an hour of her heading out, the doors were pushed open inside with a loud creaking noise. Holding a serious face, Mark walked into the room, stomping his shoe hard on the floor.
