"Madam, I think you should wake up."
Ruby's eyelids fluttered as she heard someone calling her constantly. When she opened her eyes, Ruby jumped in surprise and almost hit the person standing next to her bed.
"Basen, you startled me!" Ruby sat up on the bed and rubbed her face. "How did you get into my room?"
Basen smiled widely and showed no guilt at all. "I entered through the air vent."
Ruby's pupils moved toward the air vent above the window. She frowned as she saw that the vent was so small that it was impossible for someone to enter.
Unless Basen turned into a snake.
Ruby sighed. "Why are you sneaking in like this? His Majesty will probably be mad at you if he finds out you sneaked into my room."
Matthew could get very annoyed if Ruby spent too much time with Basen, let alone if he discovered that the snake secretly entered his wife's chamber when Matthew was not around.
Ruby didn't even want to imagine that.
