Ruby watched Maulvi silently, she saw the demon fox's expression change from anger, to despair, to resignation to her fate.
"If I bind a blood contract with you, can you do me a favor?" asked Maulvi.
Basen clicked his tongue, then sneered at her. "It was good enough that Madam weren't left you to die, but now you're asking for something else. You are truly shameless."
Maulvi growled, her eyes narrowing sharply as she locked eyes with Basen. However, before a fight could break out, Ruby quickly broke their quarrel.
"Basen, don't interrupt our conversation." Ruby warned, "You'd better get out if you can't calm down."
Basen finally shut his mouth tightly and turned his face away from Maulvi because he didn't want to anger Ruby.
"What can I do for you?" asked Ruby to Maulvi.
