Ruby was left speechless when they arrived at Matthew's manor in the Imperial Capital. The location of the mansion was close to the Imperial Palace, it probably only took them fifteen minutes to come to the Palace by horse carriage.
However, it was not the location that astonished Ruby but rather the luxury encompassing the mansion. The size of the manor could be three times larger than Marquess Barnett's residence, and even Averly said that the Lyndone family mansion could not compete with Matthew's.
"Is this really your residence?" asked Ruby with a trembling voice. She was still standing in front of the manor's entrance door as she was mesmerized by the mansion's luxury. "Isn't buying property near the Imperial Palace very expensive?"
"It's not that expensive." Matthew then took Ruby's hand and led her into the manor.
Faintly, Ruby could hear Averly whispering next to her. "The land properties here are very expensive. My father even never thought of building a house here."
