Chapter 24 - Fulfilment And Pain

Angel Wings?

Viviana looked closely. Amidst all the ink, she could see a patch on his chest right above his heart where there was no ink. There were intricate patterns that defined the mane of a lion but where there was no ink and his bare skin was visible, she could see the pattern. It was so exquisitely hidden and was discernable with a little effort.

An angel with a sword!

Ah… Archangel Michael!

She covered the tattoo with his shirt. Her lower abdomen felt weird. She could sense that something was not right, but a smirk hung by the corner of her lips as she remembered the conversation, she had had a long time ago, with the obnoxious Leander Kastello.

"He did want to be St. Michael sooo badly…" she mumbled under her breath and picked up the first aid box.

And he tattooed the archangel on his chest! He then proceeds to hurt innocents just because they look at his perverted brother weirdly.

Heh!

"What did you say? Repeat what you just said!" he glared at her with his eyebrows knitted to a unibrow.

Viviana let out a sigh. She wanted to express her anger, but then she met his eyes. And bam! She couldn't say a hurtful word. More than angry, he looked confused.

She couldn't understand why he always had that look on his face. He looked more like a curious puppy than a ferocious lion when he looked at her like that.

"Umm…" She cleared her throat to get her brain working. She needed to distract him from this topic.

He doesn't have to know that they've met in the past. She knew that meeting she never forgot would have been a passing cloud in his life. He won't remember that meeting from long ago, and she hoped it would stay that way forever.

"You did a good job, Kastello! Don't you worry… Your wound will heal soon," she smiled and for added effect, she even patted his head gently.

Majorly, she wanted to feel his hair ever since she laid eyes on them, and also, she did that patronizing gesture to make him angry so that he would leave the topic at hand.

Surely the monstrous lion wouldn't like his mane to be petted as if he was a lowly kitten, right?

Right!

That's where she went wrong again. She had two major takeaways from this incident.

First of all, she should mention it—his hair was smoother and softer than how she expected it would feel. After she saw his hair fluttering like a reed meadow, she imagined that his hair would be soft to the touch. But boy, no imagination would have prepared her for how smooth his hair actually was.

And secondly, he was not offended by what she did. He didn't find that condescending. If she could make a bold assertion, she would say that he was enjoying it.

His furrowed brows relaxed, and so did the frown lines on his forehead. When she retracted her hand, he leaned forward to her hand as if he wanted more. Her fingers winced as she interlaced them with his smooth hair, and he let her. When she ran her fingers through his hair, he closed his eyes and inhaled slowly and deeply as if he was meditating.

Wha…what is going on?

She felt something clenching in her lower abdomen and she took a sharp inhale. She placed her hand on her abdomen when a sharp pulling pain originated between her leg and passed to her lower abdomen.

Her privates felt like someone rubbed hot chili on it. And it felt like someone was using a hacksaw 'there'.

The pain was so great that her eyes almost blackened. She dropped the first aid box she had in her hand. Holding her abdomen, she bent hoping that would reduce the pain.

What is this pain?

She remembered that the lady said that she was unconscious for two days. All she had on her was an old t-shirt with no underwear. She still is not wearing any underwear. The moment she woke up, he proceeded to…

No…No way… He did not… But how many…

She fell to her knees. She expected this would happen if she got caught alive, but…

She couldn't accept it.

"What's…Hey, are you okay?" Leander stood up distracted by the sound of the falling first aid box.

It was hard for him to get out of the pleasant feeling her fingers gave him. And her words… Of all the women in this world, he is hearing what he wanted to hear from this woman. And he expected his mother to caress his hair all his life, and yet she was the one who gave him that fulfillment too.

When her fingers ran through his hair, he truly thought he could die a happy man just at that moment without any regret.

But what happened to her?

He held her shoulder to make her look at him. She looked like she was in a lot of pain.

"Nathaniel!" he screamed. "Someone, get Nathaniel!"

"Hey, Minnie…Look at me…" he tried to hold her cheek, but she slapped his hands and stood up.

"Bathroom…" she said.

"There..." he pointed at the bathroom. She waddled her way there.

Leander followed her closely talking to her. But she was not saying anything back. "Hey!" he shouted.

But she slumped on the floor like a falling house of cards.
